Where Art and Social Justice Meet
Our Mission
To encourage healing, create understanding, and open respectful discussions within our community through art and storytelling.
How do we define Social Justice?
Social justice is when marginalized groups are no longer oppressed, when laws are created to protect the people, when inherent rights of individuals are respected, when everyone has equity, and there is recognition that not everyone needs the same resources but different and applicable ones, when open-mindedness and empathy are the method of relating to others. When these things and others like them are achieved, we will have social justice.

Talitha Christen-Kopp
Treasurer
Talitha is thrived to be part of a theatre for a cause. She got involved in theatre at the early age of 10 years old, growing up in a high school theatre with a Director dad and Costumer mom. She remembers spending late nights working on props, costumes, and sets to get things ready for opening night… then drinking in the magic of the first time the curtains opened and the show began. She remained involved in theatre as she grew up, participating in Tech High School Theatre as both cast and crew, throwing herself into creating the magic she watched as a kid. She has volunteered for several show with GREAT Theatre and has forged friendships with individuals who share her passion for theatre and want to make a difference. Outside of theatre, Talitha enjoys working with horses, reading, anything arts, loving her people and finding wants to be (and encourage others to be) uniquely authentic. Her future plans include more theatre shenanigans, serving in Ukraine, and spending time with her loved ones!
Summer Welch
Secretary
Summer has been deeply in love with theatre since she was cast in her first show at the age of 13. She continued to audition for every production her high school offered, solidifying her passion for the stage. After high school, she took a break from performing to earn a Bachelor's degree in Mass Communications – Creative Media, with a minor in Film Studies at Saint CLoud State University. This led to her career as a Multimedia and Marketing Specialist.
Although her professional work is highly creative, Summer can’t get enough—which is why she loves living in the vibrant creative community of Central Minnesota. Since 2021, she has participated in over 20 theatre and film projects, both onstage and behind the scenes in the local area.
The arts are Summer’s true passion. She is especially excited for Mirror Theatre to shine a spotlight on important social justice topics—educating audiences, creating dialogue, and highlighting marginalized people and untold stories.
